PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium: The December Update

Sony seems to have forgotten that December 14 is not November. Perhaps they should have worded their post differently.

Sony has announced the games that PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscribers will soon be able to play on the PlayStation Blog. However, when the PlayStation Plus Essential titles are announced, they always say that the Extra/Premium catalog will be revealed “later in the month,” which is what was said in the PS Plus Essential post on November 30. Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to rewrite precisely when it will be announced instead of being ambiguous?

PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers will receive these games: Adventure Time Pirates of the Enchiridion (PlayStation 4), Ben 10: Power Trip (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), The Escapists 2 (PlayStation 4), Evil Genius 2: World Domination (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Far Cry 5 (PlayStation 4), Far Cry New Dawn (PlayStation 4), Far Cry Primal (PlayStation 4), Gigantosaurus The Game (PlayStation 4), Judgment (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (PlayStation 4), Middle-earth: Shadow of War (PlayStation 4), Mortal Shell (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), The Pedestrian (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire – Ultimate Edition (PlayStation 4), WWE 2K22 (PlayStation 4), Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (PlayStation 4), Yakuza (7): Like A Dragon (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Worms W. M.D (PlayStation 4).

Unfortunately, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers won’t get many extras beyond the above in the Classics line-up, with Ninja Theory’s Heavenly Sword (PlayStation 3, running from the cloud), Pinball Heroes (PSP), Ridge Racer 2 (PSP), and Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus (PS1) joining the list. These three games have higher resolution, quick save, rewind, and custom video filter options.

The games will be available from December 20. The list shows that Sony is still pushing PlayStation Plus Extra, and Microsoft’s example could be followed with a list of departing games. If the Redmond tech giant can always list what’s going off Xbox Game Pass when it updates, why can’t Sony?
