Henry Cavill Superman: Cut from Even The Flash!

MOVIE NEWS – Changes are still happening fast at DC. It seems that the traces of British star Henry Cavill’s Superman are almost sprinkled with salt, since not only was he recently fired from the role, but also scenes with the star are being cut from The Flash, which has already been filmed.

Henry Cavill Superman will no longer be: from the DC Extended Universe, this came suddenly. It’s been widely reported that James Gunn and Peter Safran are making their visions for the DC film and TV universe official this week. The Hollywood Reporter has the first look at what these changes will entail – at least for Superman.

We already reported that Superman will be back in Gunn’s new movie, which a younger actor will play. But among the more recent revelations is that although Cavill is the Black Adam would have played the role of the Man of Steel again, none of the projects saw the light of day. Those cuts include Cavill’s already-filmed cameo in The Flash – one of four DC movies due out in 2023.

The Hollywood Reporter adds that executives met with Cavill to discuss the plans. The actor is reportedly being scouted for a new role in the DCEU. Gunn and Safran have also reportedly spoken to Ben Affleck (who is out as Batman) and Jason Momoa (who could be out as Aquaman) to explore new roles or to direct future projects.

The timeline and full ramifications of Gunn and Safran’s change of heart for DC aren’t entirely clear yet, but Gunn has been typically transparent with fans. The Hollywood Reporter quoted Gunn as saying that “everything about Black Adam happened before I was here,” referring to DC pitching Cavill’s Superman cameo in Black Adam — then sending him away within months.

For his part, Cavill announced this week that he will star and produce an adaptation of the Warhammer 40K series for Prime Video.
