We don’t hear much about Xbox exclusives, and it looks like Arkane Studios’ game won’t be arriving on the date previously set.
Within Microsoft (which owns ZeniMax Media, which owns the Bethesda publishing house and all the studios and IPs under it), it has already been decided when Redfall will be released, and that’s why we’ve heard rumors that it could reach gamers around March. Still, the source of the previous rumor, Okami, has now posted something different on Twitter, and it’s better not to expect Redfall in March.
The situation is that the release date has been delayed internally by about six weeks. At the moment, the new release date could be early May, and although it is not so good news, the leaker says that this is understandable and that Microsoft will announce the release date to the public when everything is ready. So they’re following the “when it’s done” principle: they don’t want to rush it as they did with Starfield (which was initially due out on November 11!).
Here’s the game’s official description: “The island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, is under siege by a legion of vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut the citizens off from the outside world. Explore the open world and immerse yourself in a deep story campaign as you unravel the mystery behind the vampires’ appearance. Ally with a handful of survivors against the creatures, threatened to bleed the town dry. Venture into the darkness alone or squad up for up to four-player co-op. Teammates can try different hero loadouts and combine their strengths to find creative solutions to the vampire apocalypse. You will collect an arsenal of specialized weaponry and customize your character with unique upgrades and abilities to suit your playstyle for guns blazing, stealth combat, and everything in between. Created by science experiments gone wrong and gifted with psychic abilities, Redfall’s vampires will challenge you and your squad to get creative. You will choose from a team of diverse heroes – each with their character-specific abilities – to overcome the vampire legion and their brood of maniacal followers.”
So Redfall is rumored to be coming to Xbox Series and PC in May and will be part of the Xbox Game Pass from launch.
