TECH NEWS – Low demand for Apple’s iPhone 14 Plus may cause the tech company to adjust its plans slightly.
In September, Apple announced the iPhone 14, with the Pro and Pro Max models selling particularly well. However, the same cannot be said for the basic and Plus models, so the company is reportedly planning to release the iPhone 15 and the slightly larger iPhone 15 Plus at a lower price next autumn. Since Apple is slowly opening the gap between the base and Pro models, it might make sense to make a more considerable price difference.
There isn’t a big jump between the iPhone 13 and 14, which is why many people buy the older model directly from Apple. The iPhone 14 Plus is $900, but it just has a bigger display and battery capacity, so it’s no wonder many people would rather plunk down $200 extra for the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which has more extras in terms of design, display, camera, and the A16 Bionic chip. It’s no coincidence that the Pro/Pro Max is selling strongly.
“According to a post by yeux1122 on Naver, the flagging sales of the iPhone 14 Plus are “far beyond” even Apple’s lowest estimates, and Apple is considering new strategies with the iPhone 15 to reverse the trend. Apple plans its phone releases years in advance, so it’s unlikely to cancel its plans for the iPhone 15 Plus. However, Apple is “seriously” considering a price reduction […]Yeux1122 has a decent track record for leaks, accurately predicting the iPhone 14 Pro’s price, chip, and colors, as well as the 10th-gen iPad’s design changes and release date,” Macworld writes. There’s no word on the price. It’s not out of the question that, say, $700 will be the base version of the iPhone 15 (that’s the iPhone 13 Mini’s price tag), rather than $900, and for $900, Apple could sell the Plus version.
With their exclusive features, the iPhone 15 Pro and Ultra could generate more money for Apple, thus increasing the average price. According to LeaksApplePro, don’t expect a Mini model of the new phone, as the company has no plans for it. Although the 13 Mini didn’t sell well, millions of these were sold, and in September, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst, more were sold than the iPhone 14 Plus.
So it will be interesting to see what Apple does with the iPhone 15 during 2023…
