The PlayStation Store has significantly discounted one of the top-rated PS4 games, making it almost free.
The PlayStation Store is currently offering a highly rated PlayStation 4 game, the acclaimed strategy game XCOM 2, for almost free, available for just $2.99 until February 2nd. The PlayStation Store regularly offers discounts on games, but it’s rare for the platform to offer such a dramatic discount, especially for a game as highly regarded as Firaxis’ XCOM 2.
XCOM 2 was first released on PC in February 2016, but was ported to Sony’s PlayStation 4 console and other platforms later that year. As a direct sequel to the popular XCOM: Enemy Unknown, XCOM 2 received even stronger reviews from critics who praised the various improvements it introduced over its predecessor. XCOM 2 received an overall review score of 87 from critics, making it one of the highest-rated titles available on PS4.
Those interested in XCOM 2 can get the game for just HUF $2.99, instead of the usual original price of $59.99, if they buy it through the PlayStation Store until February 2. And while XCOM 2 is a PS4 game, it’s worth noting that it’s also playable on PS5.
Needless to say, this is an incredible deal, especially for those who haven’t played XCOM 2 for themselves. However, before PlayStation gamers can add XCOM 2 to their digital library, it’s worth checking if they’ve signed up for PS Plus Extra or PS Plus Premium. Anyone who subscribes to the Extra or Premium level of Sony’s PlayStation Plus service can now access XCOM 2 for free.
But even those who subscribe to PS Plus Extra or Premium might want to take advantage of this massive XCOM 2 discount while they still have the chance. Games leave PS Plus Extra from time to time, and XCOM 2 may be removed from the service at some point down the road. Some PS Plus Extra subscribers may not have time to play XCOM 2 while it’s on the service, so they might want to grab the game at this hefty discount while they still can.
XCOM 2 is available now for mobile, PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.
