Could Sony’s Recent PS5 Advert Hint At A New Uncharted Game?! [VIDEO]

A new trailer promoting current and upcoming PS5 titles seems to hint at a possible new Uncharted episode.

A new PlayStation 5 trailer has been released, showing off current and upcoming exclusive titles. The ad features clips that have fans speculating about a possible return of the Uncharted franchise.

The advert coincided with Sony’s news that the PlayStation 5 shortage is ending, with the official tweet saying that this year “it will be easier to find a PlayStation 5” and thanking fans for their patience.

The new advert, released on 30 January, features newsreel-style clips of PlayStation-exclusive titles. God of War: Ragnarok, Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West are featured. There’s even a clip featuring Spider-Man, alongside the autumn 2023 release date for Spider-Man 2. Alongside the clips are some glimpses of an unrecognisable game. But fans speculate that these clips may actually belong to a possible new entry in the Uncharted franchise.

Eagle-eyed fans have spotted two clips within the trailer. In the first, at about 43 seconds into the commercial, a woman is seen in a cave with a torch, looking at an artefact resting atop a pedestal seemingly in front of her. The second clip is a fraction of a second at 47 seconds. The same woman blows the dust off the artefact seen in the previous clip. Considering that the PlayStation-exclusive Uncharted franchise has players searching for hidden artefacts and treasures, it’s not impossible that this could be a possible taste of what’s to come.

In a recent interview, Naughty Dog co-director Neil Druckmann stated that the Uncharted franchise will not be continued, meaning that the incredibly successful Uncharted 4 will be the final instalment.

Fans and critics agreed that the game brought the series to a satisfying conclusion. However, based on the clip from the trailer, fans are already speculating that the franchise may return under a new developer with a new protagonist.

Many fans were pleased with the ending of Uncharted 4. However, there is no doubt that gamers are keen to dive into the series’ world once more. The franchise has always been highly regarded since its first instalment in 2007. So a new PS5 instalment would more than likely be a huge success.
