CINEMA NEWS – The ten-episode musical series starring Marisa Davila and Cheyenne Isabel will be streamed exclusively on SkyShowtime this spring.
Grease: Rise of The Pink Ladies is coming to SkyShowtime this spring.
The Paramount Television Studios musical series takes place four years before the original Grease: in 1954, before rock’n’roll took over, when the T-Birds weren’t the hottest band in school, four eccentrics dare to to have fun flouting norms – and the resulting moral panic will change the life of Rydell High forever.
Cast: Marisa Davila – Jane, Cheyenne Isabel Wells – Olivia, Ari Notartomaso – Cynthia, Tricia Fukuhara – Nancy, Shanel Bailey – Hazel, Madison Thompson – Susan, Johnathan Nieves – Richie, Jason Schmidt – Buddy, Maxwell Whittington-Cooper – Wally and Jackie Hoffman – Assistant Principal McGee.
The writer and executive producer is Annabel Oakes (More Than Normal, Transparent), who is also the showrunner and director. Temple Hill is executive produced by Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, with Adam Fishbach also executive producing. The pilot and two additional episodes were directed by Alethea Jones(Designed for Love, Dollface, Evil), who serves as executive producer on the project. Erik Feig and Samie Kim Falvey are executive producing through PICTURESTART, with Grace Gilroy producing. The choreography was put together by director Jamal Sims, and the music was composed by GRAMMY Award nominee Justin Trante.
