So the rumor that Sony would soon be broadcasting the new State of Play was true, but we get to sit in front of the screen sooner, not in March.
Sony will host the broadcast at a slightly silly time in Europe on YouTube and Twitch. According to the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, the show will start at 10 pm CET on February 22 and will last 45 minutes. We’ll be getting a new taste of some of the anticipated games being developed by Sony’s third-party partners (i.e., third-party publishers, so you could include Final Fantasy XVI, for example, or even Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 Remake, or Street Fighter 6, as both are coming out for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4).
The PlayStation VR2 won’t be ignored either, as the headset will be available from today and will give us our first look at five games coming out in 2023. Then, we can turn the broadcast off after thirty minutes, as the remaining fifteen will be taken up by one game, Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which will be a live service game, and luckily for us, the story doesn’t stop there, as there’s more information on another page…
Japan’s PlayStation Blog has revealed that tomorrow night’s State of Play will feature sixteen new games for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation VR2. So there will be some reveals, but presumably, the focus will be on games that are already known but yet to be released. If Sony can give us a rebuttal, that would be nice.
So you can get ready for some announcements tomorrow night, and if there are any exciting ones, there’s a good chance they’ll all be in the news by Friday. (Or not, as sleeping is essential.)
