Every Month Will Have A Steam Sale: Valve Reveals Its Plans!

Fear not, Valve won’t miss the end-of-year sales, but there’s more to come.

There used to be speculation about when to expect the big Steam sales. Gabe Newell’s company has changed that, with a list of what genres of games will be on sale (which is the direction Steam is taking with its sales):

  •     Mystery Fest: February 20 – 27 (mystery games)
  •     Spring Sale: March 16 – 23 (the seasonal spring sale)
  •     Puzzle Fest: April 24 – May 1 (puzzle genre games)
  •     Sports Fest: May 15 – 22 (sports genre games)
  •     Next Fest: June 19 – 26 (where you can try out games in the pipeline)
  •     Summer Sale: June 29 – July 13 (the summer seasonal sale)
  •     Stealth Fest: July 24 – 31 (stealth games)
  •     Visual Novel Fest: August 7 – 14 (visual novels)
  •     Strategy Fest: August 28 – September 4 (strategy genre games)
  •     SHMUP Fest: September 25 – October 2 (shoot’em up games)
  •     Next Fest: October 9 – 16 (same as in June)
  •     Return of Steam Scream Fest (Halloween): October 26 – November 2 (more details to be announced later, but horror games, obviously)
  •     Autumn Sale: November 21 – 28 (the autumn seasonal sale)
  •     Winter Sale: December 21 – January 4, 2024 (the seasonal winter sale)

Valve has dropped the Lunar New Year sale and replaced it with a Chinese New Year sale at the end of January. There will be three Steam Next Fests, and genre-specific and seasonal promotions will be represented on Steam. The most extended break between the two promotions will be a month, with the Spring promotions ending on March 23, then Puzzle Fest comes on April 24, and the shortest break being a tough three days between the June Next Fest and the Summer promotions.

So there will be plenty of places to spend your money.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
