STALKER 2 Developers Have Responded To The Cyber Attack In A Statement!

Following a recent attack by a Russian hacking group, GSC Game World, the company behind STALKER 2, has issued a statement about the incident. They vowed never to back down.

On March 12, the development team of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl released a statement following the cyber attack that resulted in a data leak of the upcoming title. The statement condemned the attack by the Russian hacking group, and GSC Game World vowed to continue the game’s development despite the circumstances.

Recently, a Russian hacking group leaked STALKER 2 data obtained from GSC Game World’s developer account, including gigabytes of data that included images and graphics believed to be from a work-in-progress game build.

Some of the images were posted on the Russian social media network VK. The hackers demanded that GSC Game World change its attitude towards Russian and Belarusian players. The developers had until Wednesday, March 15, to meet their demands. Given that GSC Game World is a Ukrainian studio whose members are involved in the war between Russia and Ukraine, the developers are no strangers to dealing with attacks from Russia.

On Twitter, GSC Game World issued a statement condemning the hacker and confirming what happened. According to the tweet, a developer account credentials for an image app were compromised. This allowed hackers to access images and data from various stages of STALKER 2 development. In light of this situation, GSC Game World has asked players to refrain from sharing any information that may have been leaked as a result of the hack. Furthermore, the developers have stated that any images that may have been taken may not be accurate for the final product.

However, as the development of STALKER 2 continues despite the situation in Ukraine, GSC Game World has reaffirmed its commitment to completing and releasing the game.

Needless to say, GSC Game World has refused to capitulate to the hackers’ demands. The team cited their involvement in the war and the continued support of the game’s fans as their primary motivation to finish development. While the game remains one of the most anticipated titles in the Epic Games Store, a release date for STALKER 2 has not been finalized at the time of writing.

In response to the tweet, support has been pouring in from around the world for GSC Game World and Ukraine. In the responses, some users have vowed to block and report anyone who spreads the information obtained from the leak. With the support of fans worldwide, the game will remain one of the most anticipated titles in the future.
