MOVIE NEWS – Although his latest film, Top Gun: Maverick, was nominated for six Oscars, Tom Cruise did not attend the awards ceremony. He was also among the candidates as one of the film’s producers.
Esquire magazine took a good look at what could have been the reason for his absence. Maybe he didn’t go because he wasn’t nominated for Best Actor? Or he doesn’t attach much importance to the awards in the first place, since he also returned three Golden Globes when a scandal broke out around the Hollywood Foreign Press, which awarded the award. (It turned out that the board of accredited foreign correspondents in Hollywood has no black members.)
Esquire, of course, gives the right answer: Cruise is so busy filming Mission: Impossible Showdown Part One that it’s not worth going to award ceremonies.
