An Exclusive, Great Nintendo Switch JRPG Could Soon be Added to Xbox Game Pass?!

If you love RPGs, then we have some good news for you: a new rumor claims that a Nintendo Switch exclusive title will soon be released on multiple platforms, and when it does, it will be added to the Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate libraries right away. But which game is this? Read on and find out!

The source of the rumor is Twitter user Sn0w1n, who has previously shared several news and leaks. In other words, this should be taken with a pinch of salt, but if true, this would be a big deal for Xbox.

The game is none other than Shin Megami Tensei V – an RPG game published by Sega and developed by Atlus. The latter studio is best known for the Persona series. The game was released on November 11, 2021 for Nintendo Switch, and has sold over a million copies as of April 2022. Critics also loved it: it scored 84 points on Metacritic.

The game features a protagonist who walks home in Tokyo at the end of a modern day when an unexpected event leaves him buried and unconscious. He wakes up in a new Tokyo, a wasteland ravaged by apocalypse now called Da’at. Here he meets a savior with whom he merges into a being neither human nor demon: Nahobino. With his newfound power, the protagonist ventures through Da’at – a mysterious realm filled with mythical deities and demonic tyrants – who are constantly fighting for survival. Searching for answers, the protagonist must forge his own path in a battle between light and dark – to decide the fate of the world.

The rumor claims that Shin Megami Tensei V will be released on multiple platforms, and that this news will be announced at the Shin Megami Tensei 30th anniversary event between May 5 and May 6. When the game will be released on other platforms, the rumor does not say, but it does mention that it will be an Xbox Game Pass day one release.

This means that if you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (which cost $10 and $15 per month respectively), you can play this fantastic RPG without having to buy it separately. And that’s quite an offer!

Of course, this is just a rumor for now, so it’s not certain that it’s true. But if it is, then this would be great news for Xbox Game Pass RPG fans.
