Super Mario Bros.:The Movie Can Bring 100 Million In 5 Days

MOVIE NEWS – Super Mario Bros.: The Movie is conservatively estimated to have a North American total of $85-90 million, given that it hits theaters over the Easter weekend, when most families visit at least one cinema.

However, less conservative analysts would not be surprised at 100 million, considering that the film is preceded by huge expectations, as shown by the buzz of Internet forums and the intense likes of the trailers.

For comparison, record-holder Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice grossed $181 million over its three-day Easter weekend, while 1993’s flop live-action Super Mario Bros. grossed $39 million. It seems that the new Mario movie can achieve the performance of its deserving predecessor in just two days.

The cinema produced from one of the world’s most popular video games is cleverly conceived. It has two main core audiences, one is children under 12 and the other is gamers under 25. The two have a lot in common, but this is compensated for by the fact that children usually go to the multiplex accompanied by their parents and/or older siblings, so the older age group is also well represented in the audience. For this reason, Super Mario Bros.: The film has become a family cinema, i.e. in addition to children’s jokes, there is also humor that makes the production good fun for older people as well.
