If you have an SSD smaller than 512 GB, you might want to consider buying a 1 TB SSD (whether SATA or NVMe) if you plan to play Respawn Entertainment’s next game on PC…
On Steam, the full system requirements for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have surfaced. Let’s take a look at what PC you’ll need to run the game properly:
Minimum system requirements:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (no version number mentioned)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 or better – four-core, eight-thread CPU required
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 580 or better – 8 GB VRAM required
- DirectX: DX12
- Not written, but an Internet connection (Denuvo)
- Free storage: 155 GB
Recommended system requirements:
- Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (version number not mentioned)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-11600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or better – four-core, eight-thread CPU required
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 or better – 8 GB VRAM required
- DirectX: DX12
- Internet connection (Denuvo)
- Free storage: 155 GB on SSD!
We didn’t typo it twice a row, but we suggest you read the “free storage” line again: 155 GB. One hundred and fifty-five gigabytes. That’s what Respawn’s game will need! And in the recommended system requirements, Respawn mentions installing the game on an SSD! (The other hardware components have much friendlier requirements, except for the use of Denuvo, which prevents future preservation of the game, and Electronic Arts will undoubtedly continue to push the technology “calling home”…)
So for a relatively low processor requirement, 8 GB of VRAM is a bit much (for those with 4 or maybe only 2 GB, they are out of luck…), but especially the 155 GB of space is steep. We don’t know yet how much it will need on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series, but we’ll find out soon because Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be available on PC alongside the two consoles on April 28.
