Silent Hill 2 Remake in the works at Bloober Team is rumored to be no exception: there could be more than that agreed upon between Sony and Konami.
We’ve heard (and written) many things about the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, including that Virtuos, the studio of several ports, is one of the clients behind it and that VGC editor-in-chief Andy Robinson says the game will be released by Konami for PlayStation 5 in 2024. Now, Xbox Era podcast host Shpeshal Nick and Windows Central editor Jez Corden have spoken about whether Snake will indeed be making an appearance on Sony’s current-gen machine.
The former’s source isn’t entirely sure. Still, perhaps Snake will be seen during the rumored PlayStation Showcase and has some sort of PlayStation exclusivity (perhaps console exclusivity and will be appearing on PC?). Corden could partially back up Twitter what was said on Xbox Era because he’s heard similar things about Metal Gear Solid. Asked if he thought Bluepoint Games was working on it, Corden replied that he wasn’t sure but had heard that Sony and Konami had agreed to bring Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and possibly a new Castlevania to PlayStation 5.
Slightly off-topic, but Corden also heard something about Dead Rising. According to him, it will be a reboot (which makes sense since Capcom Vancouver, which developed Dead Rising 4, was shut down, and they were working on the fifth installment at the time). But going back to Konami’s IPs, as early as 2021, there were rumors that Konami wanted to resurrect the Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, and Silent Hill series with the help of remakes. Perhaps the Japanese publisher’s wish will come true, but, as we always write in rumors, nothing is official yet.
