Xbox Game Pass: The Second Update In May 2023

Microsoft has announced the schedule for how its subscription service will be expanded.

FIFA 23 (console – Xbox Series, Xbox One, PC) is already available through EA Play (Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC), with Eastern Exorcist (console, PC) and Ghostlore (console; available on PC) arriving on May 18, Planet of Lana (console, PC, debuting as a new release on the service) on May 23, Cassette Beasts (console; available on PC), Massive Chalice (console, cloud) and Railway Empire 2 (console, PC, cloud) on May 25, and finally, Chicory: A Colorful Tale (console, PC) on May 30.

Among the DLCs and updates, Microsoft mentioned just two: in addition to Sea of Thieves: The Hoarder’s Hunt, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition has been expanded with Return to Rome, which Game Pass subscribers can buy at a 10% discount. There are two Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Quest. One of them is best forgotten as soon as possible, as Electronic Arts wants to draw players into the annual gambling, as the FIFA 23 Ultimate Team Pack is available between May 16 and June 16, and the Smite x Vshojo Starter Pack is there (six goddesses can be obtained for free this way).

Finally, we also list the outgoing games. Europa Universalis (PC), Evil Genius 2: World Domination (console, PC, cloud), FIFA 21 (console, PC – EA Play), Floppy Knights (console, PC, cloud), and Lawn Mowing Simulator (console, PC, cloud) will all be leaving Xbox Game Pass on the May 31. You can buy these at up to 20% off, but that’s the usual from Microsoft.

And that’s the list. No touchscreen support and no major exclusive titles (the last one was Redfall). It’s becoming noticeable that Sony (PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium) and Microsoft have started scaling back their subscription service significantly. Maybe both companies will switch on during the E3 pre-show period in June, but we doubt it…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title.
