Xbox Game Pass: Another Free Day One Release Announced For June!

A new game has been confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in June, which may also appeal to fans of boomer shooters.

A new day-one Xbox Game Pass release called Slayers X has been confirmed for June 2023. The new game comes from frequent Game Pass partner No More Robots. Its full title is Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer. Game Pass subscribers will be able to play the 3D Realms-inspired boomer shooter, a modern satire of Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior. Slayers X will be released on Steam, PC and Xbox Game Pass on June 1.

Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer was first announced over a year ago by publisher No More Robots.

A recent press release confirmed that Slayers X will be available on Steam as well as PC and Xbox Game Pass as a standard PC release for a June release. An exceptional beta preview level for Slayers X is also available now. This can be obtained by adding the game to your Steam wishlist.

This announcement will come as no big surprise for fans of games published by No More Robots. The developer has a long-standing relationship with Game Pass. The company’s CEO, Mike Rose, recently said that the company plans to put all its future games on Game Pass. The availability of Game Pass and the willingness of the subscriber base to try new things clearly provide a ripe environment for titles like Slayers X to find success.

While Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer may not be a massive AAA game that all subscribers can get excited about, it is another niche title. Its own tier audience will be delighted with its release. Be it the boomer shooter fans or the Hypnospace Outlaw fans. Or maybe those Xbox Game Pass subscribers who want to try everything. Slayers X will make the most of the Game Pass first-day launch.
