PlayStation Plus Disaster: We Can’t Believe They’ll Remove So Many Blockbuster Favourites!

Members of higher tiers of PlayStation Plus will soon lose access to ten games. Sony has updated the list of titles that will leave in July 2023.

Higher-tier PlayStation Plus members will soon lose access to a whole bunch of games. Ten titles will reportedly be leaving the service in July 2023. Sony regularly adds new games to the catalogue available to PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. Subscribers can play new titles every month.

Sony is also removing games from Extra and Premium tiers, with 16 games leaving PlayStation Plus in June 2023, including Red Faction 2, Agents of Mayhem, John Wick Hex and Black Mirror.

Fans will not retain access to games that are removed from Extra and Premium. So users who want to play these titles will have to purchase them. Now Sony has updated the list of games that will be leaving PS Plus in July 2023.

Push Square reports that ten games will leave the higher tiers of PlayStation Plus when the catalogue is updated in July 2023. This list includes Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, Stray, Marvel’s Avengers, Fluster Cluck, Raiden 5: Director’s Cut, Rogue Stormers, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, as well as remasters of BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite. Some of these titles will leave the PS Plus Extras, while others will be removed from Premium.

PlayStation Plus games leaving in July 2023:

  • BioShock Remastered
  • BioShock 2 Remastered
  • BioShock Infinite Remastered
  • Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
  • Fluster Cluck
  • Marvel’s Avengers
  • Raiden 5: Director’s Cut
  • Rogue Stormers
  • Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell
  • Stray

Although “only” ten games are leaving PS Plus, the full line-up includes some notable titles. Stray came as a day-one PS Plus Extra release and ended up being one of the most popular games on the service. In addition, the BioShock games started with critical acclaim. BioShock and BioShock Infinite scored 96 and 94, respectively, on Metacritic.

That said, this total is far lower than the number of games that left PS Plus in May, as users lost access to a large number of titles during that period. More than 30 games left PlayStation Plus in May 2023.

In addition, there were also triple-A titles such as Marvel’s Spider-Man, Metro: Last Light Redux, Dreamfall Chapters and Resident Evil.

Sony has not yet announced the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium offerings for July 2023. It will be interesting to see what games are added to the service to replace these ten titles. Sony has added 29 new games to PS Plus Extra and Premium in June 2023. And this month, some notable titles have joined the service. Extra members can now play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Far Cry 6, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and Thief. (Among many others.) Premium subscribers will also be able to try Killzone: Liberation and Worms, among others.
