Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III: Activision Blizzard Technically Confirmed It!

While this year’s Call of Duty has still not been announced (!?) by Activision Blizzard, it is slowly starting to leak, with the publisher using copyright claims (DMCA) to have the information removed…

The leaked images from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III are often removed by Activision Blizzard from Twitter at short notice, and the images were allegedly leaked from an internal test. Sledgehammer Games is developing the game and is reportedly gearing up for a sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, last year’s installment. In February, Bloomberg reported that the publisher had initially planned a significant DLC for 2023, but they were eventually able to put together a full-fledged game from that.

According to the site’s sources, Activision Blizzard’s aim with this year’s Call of Duty was to create a game that would be a standalone, full-price product (so you can expect to pay €70). At the same time, it’s an add-on to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, with maps and game modes carried over from the previous installment. According to Modern Warzone, the classic mini map and Ninja perk will return, and perks will be categorized into different gear (gloves, helmets, boots). Several NBA players have seen the game, and the 2024 installment is rumored to be developed by Treyarch and will be set during the Gulf War…

Microsoft has recently fixed the Xbox 360 segment of Xbox Live, making matchmaking for older Call of Duty games work. 2012’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II was the last CoD to show player numbers, with more than 10,000 players over the weekend, and Modern Warfare 3 before it attracted more than 7,000 players. These games have backward compatibility: Call of Duty 2 (2005), Call of Duty 3 (2006), Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007), Call of Duty: World at War (2008), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011), Call of Duty: Black Ops II (2012), Call of Duty: Ghosts (2013), and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (2014).

This situation confirms the interest in older games…
