If you have a PC, access to a Steam account, and are currently in the same space and time as me, the author of this article, I have great news for you: you can download and keep 18 free games right now.
September is already a pretty busy month, with Baldur’s Gate 3 on PlayStation 5 and Starfield on Xbox and PC. But if you’d rather try something different, there are a whole bunch of free games on PC right now. Are they all good? Maybe not. Are some worth checking out? It’s up to you.
The 18 free games you can grab on Steam right now:
- Car Manufacture – An automotive tycoon game that takes players through the history of cars.
- URBO: Dream One – Meditative puzzle game in which you build houses around the mysterious Tower.
- The Riflemen – Multiplayer first-person shooter with classic WWII bolt-action rifles.
- STG Football – A free real-time arcade soccer game designed from the ground up.
- Anonymous Hacker Simulator – Take on the role of a skilled Anonymous hacker and embark on a mission to uncover the truth .
- Spaceminers – A game that promises you can mine “real gold”, which doesn’t sound suspicious at all .
- Marvel SNAP – You’ve heard of this one. An excellent Marvel card game in which you can battle with your favorite characters.
- Daisho: Survival of a Samurai – An action RPG that uses both survival and village building mechanics .
- Road to Top G – Survive zombie waves, collect perks, open boss doors and face Top G in an intense showdown.
- Versus Vampire – A multiplayer title where you take part in a war between humans and vampires.
- Summum Aeterna – “Metroidvania Aeterna Noctis-inspired, fast-paced Roguelite” where each new run “you can create your own worlds”.
- Fight! Olyn Island – A multiplayer strategy game very similar to chess.
- Galatic Glitch – An action-Roguelike with physics-based combat mechanics.
- 90 Minute Fever – Kind of like Football Manager, but not quite as good.
- Dynast.IO – A survival game with RPG elements.
- World Of Rune – MMORPG game with lots of different characters and mystical cute pets. You can play as one of four classes.
- The Last Exodus – Turn-based sci-fi strategy for my fellow dicers.
- Sim Companies – A cool little trading simulator where you pretend to be a banker spreading money without ruining the IRL economy and ruining lives.
Personally, I’d probably stick with Baldur’s Gate 3, but come on, here are 18 other games! It never hurts to have options!
