Keanu Reeves Was Not Happy With The Ending Of John Wick: Chapter 4?!

MOVIE NEWS – Keanu Reeves wished for death at the end of John Wick: Chapter 4, but producer says he was convinced. SPOILER ALERT! This post contains details about the ending of John Wick: Chapter 4!

Keanu Reeves was tired by the end of the action-packed John Wick: Chapter 4. He reportedly asked franchise producer Basil Iwanyk to let his character rest in peace.

Iwanyk spoke about the end of the film – and the possibility of more chapters – in an interview with Collider.

At the end of Chapter 4, Reeves’ Wick fights a battle royal on the steps of the Sacre Coeur in Paris against Donnie Yen’s Caine and Bill Skarsgård’s Marquis. Long story short, Wick seems to slumber into a better existence after the showdown.

Of course. Or at least probably, of course…

“After the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th movie, making these films is so exhausting and it destroys Keanu, physically and emotionally,” said Iwanyk in the interview. “By the end, he’s always like, ‘I can’t do this again,’ and we agree with him. The guy is just a shell of himself because he just goes off and goes for it. He was like, ‘I wanna be definitively killed at the end of this movie.’ We were like, ‘You know, we’ll leave a 10% little opening.'”

Iwanyk, promoting the upcoming Wick spin-off The Continental, said Reeves and Wick director Chad Stahelski are “getting together to figure out what that story is” for another potential Wick chapter.

“The way I describe it is that they’re like Paul McCartney and John Lennon, and I’m Ringo,” Iwanyk said. “They’ll call me and let me know, ‘All right, we’re showing up. Here’s where you show up, and here’s what our story is.'” While he doesn’t come right out and promise a Chapter 5, Iwanyk said,

“We all want another John Wick. We don’t know what it looks like and when it will happen, but we love each other and we love this world.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is available to stream on Starz and can be purchased or rented from VOD providers. The continental premiere is on September 22 at Peacock.
