Xbox Game Pass: The First Update In October 2023

Microsoft isn’t adding many new games to the subscription service this time around, but there will be a fresh first-party title (developed internally by Xbox Game Studios).

Already available are Gotham Knights (Xbox Series, PC, cloud) and The Lamplighter’s League (Xbox Series, PC, cloud). On October 4, Warhammer 40K: Darktide (Xbox Series, cloud), on October 10, Forza Motorsport (Xbox Series, PC, cloud), on October 12, From Space (console [i.e. Xbox Series and Xbox One], PC, cloud), and on October 17, Like A Dragon: Ishin! will join the lineup. As a reminder, Microsoft also mentioned Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy (console, PC, cloud).

Regarding DLC and updates, Microsoft announced two things. EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play NHL 24 in Early Access for ten hours, and Sea of Thieves has received an update for The Legend of Monkey Island – The Lair of LeChuck, which means the Monkey Island collaboration for the ship game has arrived. There are two Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks. Until October 5, you can activate a free three-month subscription to Minecraft Realms Plus, and until October 10, you can access six new characters, legendary skins, and in-game cosmetic items in Overwatch 2.

As for Xbox Game Pass quests, Ultimate members can earn 250 points for killing 75 zombies in State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition, everyone else can earn 5 points for playing Amnesia: The Bunker, and 500 points for completing 22 daily quests and 12 weekly quests. Finally, on October 15, six games will be available at up to 20% off. These titles are Eville (console, PC, cloud), Overwhelm (PC), Shenzhen I/O (PC), The Legend of Tianding (console, PC, cloud), Trek to Yomi (console, PC, cloud), Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion (console, PC, cloud).

It’s safe to say that this is a solid update.
