With just a few days to go until the official announcement of the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers for October, the well-informed billbil-kun has already leaked some of the offerings online.
In recent days, rumors have surfaced that The Last of Us Part II could be added to the PlayStation Plus Premium tier, but this has yet to be confirmed. We would expect it to end up in the Extras section, but the game’s featured art has already been spotted on Premium Tier banners in certain areas. In case you missed it, you can now grab the October Essential Tier lineup, which consists of The Callisto Protocol, Farming Simulator 22, and Weird West. That’s an improvement on recent months, as I’d put The Callisto Protocol among the ideal PlayStation Plus games – a semi-fresh release that you haven’t had a chance to check out yet. Well, we’ll get the full confirmed Extra and Premium line-up on Wednesday, October 11, but in the meantime, billbil-kun has leaked eight games that are expected to be included.
Dealabs reports that this month’s Extra and Premium subscribers will get Gotham Knights, The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, Far: Changing Tides, Gungrave GORE, Elite Dangerous, Dead Island: Definitive Edition, and Alien Isolation. This also seems to be an improvement over previous months. Gotham Knights may be a fairly average game, but it’s the kind of average game that a lot of people want to play.
Alien Isolation is a horror – not flawless, but very atmospheric – take on the well-known Alien genre, and Dead Island: Definitive Edition could provide hours of gory fun. Personally, my top recommendation would be the excellent Disco Elysium: The Final Cut. It’s a detective RPG with a murder mystery to solve.
As for billbil-kun’s reliability, the leaker is right every single month, so while I have to advise you to take this with a pinch of salt, I fully expect Sony to confirm these titles in a few days.
