PlayStation Plus Essential: The November 2023 Line-Up

As always, we have to ask ourselves: has Sony been able to get more, or at least better, games for PlayStation Plus subscribers in return for the increased price, or is this once again a huge disappointment in the list that “the blues” offer to those who want to spend a lot of money to play multiplayer online, regardless of the game?

The November release is not a modern game, as it was originally released in 2010, and despite more than a dozen years since then, the franchise has been looking for a way forward. It’s called Mafia II Definitive Edition, so it’s a PlayStation 4 re-release that will, of course, also run on PlayStation 5 thanks to backwards compatibility. The second game is an online asymmetric action game, Dragon Ball: The Breakers, but again it’s a PS4 title, so it’s fair to ask Sony if that’s all they’ve got? The third game is available for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Aliens Fireteam Elite.

There’s one more new feature, but it’s more for movie lovers, as Sony Pictures Core (formerly Bravia Core) has launched on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and you can buy or rent movies and series at a 15% discount throughout November. We say that this is Netflix, and that other content could be offered for free there, such as material from the acquired Crunchyroll, or at least the middle tier (PlayStation Plus Extra) could do so… But we are probably asking for too much.

The October games will be available for download until Monday. In the meantime, here’s a reminder of what they are: you can add The Callisto Protocols, Farming Simulator 22 and Weird West to your catalogue and play them while your subscription is active. The only question that remains is: how did Billbil-kun, the infamous PlayStation Plus leaker, keep quiet this time? Surprising, isn’t it?

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
