Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is being “review bombed” as some players are giving it low scores to share their frustration.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has received a critical bombshell as gamers share their frustrations with negative reviews. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was officially released on November 10, but players have been able to play its campaign since November 2.
Modern Warfare 3 receives low scores from critics, with a rating of just 53 on Metacritic. So far, there is not a single positive review for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, with scores landing somewhere between 40 and 65. Now it seems that gamers are also disappointed with Modern Warfare 3 as it has received negative reviews and low scores online.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 received a user score of just 1.5 on Metacritic, representing an overall rating of “Overwhelming Dislike”. Many players consider Modern Warfare 3 to be one of the worst Call of Duty games ever made, and some users say it’s a money grab. Many Call of Duty fans have taken issue with the relatively short campaign and price tag, while some players have shared their distaste for Modern Warfare 3’s SBMM in these reviews.
The same trend can be seen on Steam, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 received a Mostly Negative rating out of more than 2,500 user reviews. Many players are calling it full-price DLC for Modern Warfare 2, and it seems some players have already requested refunds. Similar to Metacritic’s review, Steam users share their disappointment with the campaign, with many fans noting it’s worth the asking price. Overall, players seem to have serious issues with Modern Warfare 3, which ultimately resulted in it getting bombarded with criticism online.
Because Modern Warfare 3’s campaign was released before the official release date, players weren’t allowed to write their reviews until the full game was released. This resulted in the poor Call of Duty game being bombed as users gave 2011’s Modern Warfare 3 low scores on Metacritic.
According to a previous report, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was completed in just 16 months, which could provide a possible explanation for the user base issues. However, this report was later denied by developer Sledgehammer Games, saying that the development team had spent years making Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Regardless of how long it took to develop, it seems the reception to the latest installment in the Call of Duty series has been rather negative.
