The French publisher has not given up hope for the game, even though it has been a chaotic three years!
In 2020, Ubisoft announced the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake (which Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai were working on at the time), and last May, development was handed over to the developers of the original 2003 game, Ubisoft Montréal. This year, we heard that the development team has expanded and that the project is in the conceptual phase, which means that its appearance is far away. We did hear a brief update on the game: according to Yves Guillemot, the project has reached an important milestone and we’ll hear more about it later…
Meanwhile, Ubisoft can be added to the list of companies that do not advertise on Twitter, so Apple, IBM, Disney, Warner Bros, Lionsgate, Xfinity, Sony, NBCUniversal and Comcast join the French publisher in pausing ads on Elon Musk’s website, citing ads appearing alongside neo-Nazi content. Axios pointed out that the company is the first major publisher to make this decision regarding Musk’s Twitter, despite previously running ads for Assassin’s Creed: Nexus VR.
Meanwhile, Linda Yaccarino, the site’s CEO, lashed out at Media Matters because, besides the left-leaning American media watchdog, no Twitter users saw ads from IBM, Comcast or Oracle next to the content in question, while Apple’s ads were seen by only 2% of users, and that includes Media Matters. We won’t quote their complaint because it’s pointless.
Oh, and Musk kept his word: Twitter actually sued Media Matters over the article because it threatens the company’s relationships with major international advertisers and global publishers. Maybe they shouldn’t have messed with what was working, and they wouldn’t have this problem at all. It’s too late now.
