The Marvels: One Of The Main Characters Might Not Be Leaving The Franchise After All?!

MOVIE NEWS – The Marvels star Brie Larson has denied earlier rumours that she is bored of her role as Captain Marvel and wants to move on from the franchise.

The Marvels star Brie Larson has dispelled previous rumours that she is disillusioned with her MCU character. Following the adverse fan reaction surrounding her performance as the title character in Marvel’s Captain Marvel, it was rumoured that Larson was looking to move on from the MCU. However, a recent interview suggests otherwise.

In the book MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios, author Joanna Robinson wrote that Larson wanted out of the role of Captain Marvel. The actor was tired of her MCU work. Probably because of the negative attention Larson received from online trolls and haters of recent MCU movies.

After Captain Marvel 2 disappointed at the box office this month, speculation has been growing that Larson is ready to hang up her Captain Marvel costume.

However, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Larson offered an optimistic perspective on her MCU character. The actor explained that there is still much more to be told about Captain Marvel’s story. Also, that the superhero is just starting to come of age. Larson further explained that she loves the character. She sympathises with her in many ways. “I think there is still so much inside of Carol. I feel like getting to be on this team just cracked her open in a way that she hadn’t been, and I really loved that for her … So I think that there is just so much more to go,” Larson said. “She is just a great character to continue to grow with. It’s like, as I am growing she is growing.” She also revealed that plans for the return of Captain Marvel are already in the works, but she declined to reveal details.

“I don’t want Marvel to come for me, but there is something. There is definitely something, to answer your question, that I would want to say, but I am not going to, so…”

These plans for Larson’s Marvel Captain revolve around a possible appearance in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Also in Avengers: Secret Wars. Kang Dynasty filming could start any time now. So Captain Marvel could be involved in Marvel Studios’ latest plans around the film.

The studio is probably in no hurry to make a third film starring Captain Marvel after the first movie received a mixed reception and The Marvels flopped at the box office.

Jonathan Majors’ legal disaster could result in him being wiped out of the MCU. This leaves a massive hole in the plot of Marvel Studios’ Phase Six films. It is unclear at this point if the studio plans to reprise the character’s role. Or if it’ll do away with Kang altogether. With Larson entirely on board to continue her journey as Captain Marvel, her character could play a key role in filling that void.

Of course, it’s possible that the actor, at some point, grew tired of her superhero role. But Larson’s recent statements directly contradict the previously mentioned rumours. Now, it seems Larson is eager to continue her journey with Marvel Studios. This optimism is particularly impressive. Considering that The Marvels posted record-low earnings this month…
