MOVIE NEWS – Information continues to trickle in about Matthew Vaughn’s new action comedy, Argyle: The Super Spy, with which he wants to shake up the genre of spy movies, especially James Bond.

The story mixes fiction and reality: the heroine, Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard), writes spy novels whose hero is Argyle (Henry Cavill). When the fictional story gets too close to reality, real spies want to kill Elly. Another real spy, Aidan (Sam Rockwell), rushes to her aid, but when the fight between good and evil takes place, the writer sees Argylle in Aidan’s place.

It only sounds complicated at first, but it works in the movie. The first large-scale action scene takes place on a train, where we alternately see Argylle fighting with Elly‘s eyes, and Aidan in real life. This required an exceptional feat from the crew and the actors, because every movement had to be double-taken with the two male protagonists. “Sam and I were constantly watching each other with ardent eyes, so that our movements were perfectly identical – Cavill told Empire magazine. – He did certain movements better, so I tried to imitate him, and I was better at others, and then he copied me. Fight scenes are always complicated, but this was especially difficult in the very tight space with a lot of sharp surfaces. By the way, this choreography was quite interesting that we did the exact same thing with Sam. At first we were worried that it would be difficult to get out of it well, but we quickly got the feel of the rhythm. One of us did his scene, then rested for a bit while the other did the same thing. And when the camera had to be put away, we took a nap together.”
