Photo Of The Year Already?! Mark Hamill Finally Met His “Mom”…

MOVIE NEWS – Mark Hamill “finally” met Star Wars “mother” Natalie Portman at the 2024 Golden Globes…

It’s surprising but true: Mark Hamill just met his Star Wars mom, Natalie Portman, for the first time. The 72-year-old actor shared a photo of himself smiling alongside the 42-year-old Oscar-winning actress as they both attended the 2024 Golden Globes. Portman was nominated for May December. And Hamill presented a new category, the “box office achievement” award (which finally went to Barbie).

“Now I have finally met my ‘mother’, thanks to the @goldenglobes,” Hamill captioned the photo uploaded to X. (See at the end of the article!)

Hamill, of course, played Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, starting with 1977’s A New Hope. And Portman played the role of Padmé Amidala in the entire prequel trilogy, beginning with 1999’s The Phantom Menace. Padmé was revealed to be Leia’s mom, played by Luke and the late Carrie Fisher.

Back in June 2018, Hamill, who reprises his role as Luke in the latest Star Wars trilogy blockbuster, revealed that he had never been introduced to Portman. He wrote on X at the time: “FUN FACT: I’ve never met this woman.”

Later in the week, Portman was asked about it on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and she said: “I know, It’s such a shame, I would love to meet him. Mark, I would love to meet you. Where are ya? Come over!”

Hamill met Portman’s co-star Hayden Christensen, who played her character’s father in the prequels. They posed together at the Star Wars Celebration at the Orange County Convention Center on April 13, 2017 in Orlando, Florida.

And Hamill wrote on Instagram in April 2020: “SHOUT OUT to Hayden Christensen for no particular reason, other than being amongst the coolest of Canadians – a father young enough to be my son – & the one & only one I know they call the ‘ Chosen One.'”

Portman told GQ in May that she would be open to reprising her role in another Star Wars film: “Nobody has asked me to come back, but I’m open to it,” she said at the time.
