Pedro Pascal Talks About Joel’s Fate in The Last Of Us Season 2 and Working With Kieran Culkin

MOVIE NEWS – The recently injured actor had already removed his arm bandage when he walked the red carpet at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of his film Freaky Tales on Thursday.

This is good news for fans of The Last of Us, as Pascal has spent much of the last two weeks wearing a brace at events due to a shoulder injury, most recently at the Emmy Awards on Monday. As reported by Deadline, the injury, which he sustained in a fall, is not expected to affect filming of the second season of the Emmy-winning HBO series, which was thought to be just weeks away from starting.

Pedro Pascal jokes that Kieran Culkin is to blame for his shoulder injury at the Emmys: The Descendants star “beat the crap out of him”.

Pascal seemed ready to return to The Last of Us tonight, as his hair and beard reminded him of the character Joel. Deadline asked him if Joel’s arc in Season 2 will be different from the game. Fans of the popular video game on which the series is based will know exactly what that means…

“That it’s different from the game? That’s a good question,” said Pascal. “I think they always find a way to build on incredible source material and surprise us with how they can use that material in a different format, like a TV series. But I don’t want to spoil anyone’s experience, and the truth is I don’t really have all the information yet.

Pascal also had a point to make in his ongoing faux (actually mocking) feud with Succession star Kieran Culkin, which has been heating up social media. It started when Culkin told Pascal to “fuck off” during his Golden Globes acceptance speech. Pascal retaliated by hosting the Emmy Awards and blaming his injury on Culkin, who he said “beat the s**t out of him”.

Maybe the two will bury the hatchet and do a project together?

“I would love to, or hope to. If she’ll let me,” Pascal said, before adding, “and if she’s nice to me,” the star jokingly added.
