Hogwarts Legacy: PlayStation-Exclusive Content Coming Soon To Other Platforms

We’ve also heard a new sales result for Avalanche Software’s game.

Warner Bros. Discovery has an ambitious plan to get a serious foothold in the gaming industry. Variety wrote about the plan. If the wizard RPG becomes the best-selling game of 2023, it’s no wonder the publisher is high on the Harry Potter IP (Hogwarts Legacy is set in it), Mortal Kombat (Mortal Kombat 1 has sold more than 3 million copies since its release in September), not to mention Game of Thrones. All three IPs are estimated to be worth $1 billion, and all three are being built upon by Warner Bros. Discovery.

Game of Thrones: Conquest, a mobile strategy game, is doing better than expected, and that’s why Warner Bros. Discovery is looking to see what else they can do with the franchise. This could potentially be a AAA game, and it’s about time, as nothing like this has been released during the series’ popularity. But what about the DC Comics universe? Here’s what JB Perrette, the publisher’s CEO of international streaming and video games, had to say: “Frankly, the relationship between the studio and the game business hasn’t been as close as it should have been. And James Gunn is actually a gamer, so having someone who’s passionate about it is super helpful. Warner Bros. Games is actively working with him and Safran on the core franchises within the DC Universe.

While a Superman movie is being made, Warner Bros. Discovery doesn’t feel compelled to release a game. They want to make something that fits their gaming strategy and meets the needs of their fans and consumers. They plan to add games to their subscription service Max (the new name for HBO Max), similar to Netflix, but they want to lay the groundwork for Max first.

As for Hogwarts Legacy, it’s been announced that Avalanche will be adding new features and updates to the game this summer, and that previously PlayStation 5/PlayStation 4 exclusive content (such as the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest with its dungeon, the Shopkeeper’s Cosmetic Set, and the ability to set up your own shop) will be coming to the other platforms in Q3. No paid DLC has been announced yet, but the sales figure is 24 million…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
