[SOP 2024] Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Square Enix’s Game Will Get A Detailed Preview

At the end of the State of Play, Sony announced a new show.

At the end of last night’s broadcast (which started at 2 PM Pacific), Sony did its usual marketing stunt. Both Microsoft and Nintendo often do this at the end of their broadcasts (be it the Xbox Developer_Direct or the Nintendo Direct), with a short announcement at the end of the show to keep the audience glued to the screen.

You can also read the announcement on Twitter that Sony Interactive Entertainment has already set a date for the next State of Play. We can expect it on February 7th (we moved it from February 6th due to time zone differences), so if you want to see the latest news and gameplay for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, you’d better stay awake because it’s February 7th at 00:30 (February 6th, 3:30 PM Pacific). If the time wasn’t already convenient for European audiences, it’s even more so now…

Shawne Benson, director of portfolio for global third-party relations at Sony Interactive Entertainment, said during the State of Play broadcast, “State of Play will return on February 6th with an in-depth look at Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Square Enix will be sharing new gameplay details and exciting news that you won’t want to miss. We wonder what this exciting news might be. Is it a hint that the third act of the remake project is in the works? Is there any DLC planned for Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth? Will the game get a demo out of nowhere? Or will a PC port be confirmed? We can only speculate, as Benson didn’t give us any extras, only what we translated.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released on February 29th for PlayStation 5. There will definitely be a PC port later, but first Final Fantasy XVI will be ported from PS5 to PC (more on that should be announced by Square Enix soon)…
