Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III: Will Zombies’ Updates Stop Soon?

According to a reliable leaker, despite the popularity of the Zombies mode, the latest Call of Duty will soon stop adding content to it.

Treyarch’s game will be disappointing if the rumors are true: the Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will reportedly not receive any additional enemies or perks, despite the game’s release in November. In fact, it has been described as one of the most ambitious Zombies experiences in the franchise. It’s a PvE-centric, open-world game with up to 24 players battling the undead. It has a deeper storyline based on the consequences of Viktor Zakhaev’s actions. The initial reception was excellent, but there were some who felt that some quality of life tweaks and additional content would be nice.

On Twitter, MRDalekJD wrote that Treyarch confirmed during a conference call for content creators for the second season that there are no plans for any content updates. There will be no new enemies or perks in the Zombies mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III! This essentially means that Treyarch is leaving Zombies behind after three months, which seems like a very incomprehensible decision. If this was a game that was released over a year ago, we would have accepted it, but not like this.

The second season of the game has just been released, and with it the Zombies mode has been expanded, but after that there will be one last time, because at the beginning of the season there was no extra story quest and the Dark Aether Rift, some new blueprints, and the new warlord. So these might be the last additions. With the arrival of the season, new maps, modes, weapons, and some characters from AMC’s The Walking Dead have arrived in Operator form.

It follows that a quick stop to content updates will hurt the game-as-a-service (GaaS) approach. If the goal is to get players to play something frequently, and that game is a live service model, then content updates are mandatory. If not, the audience will abandon the product in no time!
