Dead Island: Riptide is currently free, and Dead Island 2 has been given a Steam release date. Get it while you can!
Developer Dambuster Studios has announced that Dead Island 2 will be available on Steam on April 22. To celebrate this, the publisher Deep Silver has built some promotions around the series. For starters, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition is free on Steam until February 15! Dead Island Definitive Edition and Dead Island: Retro Revenge are 85% off and 75% off, respectively.
The latter is a side-scrolling game developed by Empty Clip Studios, best known for more minor side-scrolling games such as A King’s Tale: Final Fantasy XV, Streets of Kamurocho, and Gargoyles Remastered.
Dead Island 2 was first released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via the Epic Games Store on April 21, 2023. Now that its one-year exclusivity period on the Epic Games Store is over, the game is coming to Steam.
Dead Island 2 received its first DLC story expansion in November 2023, which was named Haus. The second story expansion, SOLA Festival, could arrive sometime this year if everything is accurate.
All in all, this looks like a really nice deal. All games in the series have achieved some level of success and are worth their price. Especially when it’s so much cheaper…
