Google Pixel 6 Pro: Did Google Know About The Overheating Problems!?

TECH NEWS – A lawsuit has been filed against Alphabet because it seems that they knew about the overheating problems of their phones and sold the devices anyway!

The system-on-a-chip (SoC) in the Pixel smartphones, the Tensor, is known to be not very efficient in terms of heat dissipation, even in the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Despite this, Google was aware of the problem in a previous model, and didn’t seem to care that overheating was not a negligible factor. That’s why the company has been hit with a lawsuit…

Jennifer Hyatt has filed a class-action lawsuit against Google over the Pixel 6 Pro. Law360 reported that Hyatt has replaced the Pixel 6 Pro several times, and each time she has experienced overheating issues that she says were not accidental. Google sold the phone with knowledge of this manufacturing defect, which is why Hyatt wants Google to create an ad notifying users of the defect and asking the company to provide a refund to anyone who purchased a Pixel 6 Pro.

Earlier, there was a Reddit post with a picture of a burned spot on the Pixel 6 Pro’s heatsink, presumably due to the Tensor SoC overheating. Since Hyatt isn’t the only one affected by the defect, many could get behind the class-action lawsuit, and if Google is found guilty, Android Authority says the company would be in violation of California’s Consumers Legal Remedies Act, False Advertising Law, Unfair Competition Law, and the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act.

Keep in mind that the lawsuit is still in the very early stages and a lot could happen before the judge rules. It is even possible that the case will be dismissed. However, the fact is that if you have replaced the unit many times and the same problem has always occurred, perhaps the fault should not lie with the user.
