The co-op third-person survival horror shooter is being developed by an American studio and is currently in single-platform development.

Fun Dog Studios is based in Washington and consists of thirty veteran developers. They have decades of AAA experience and are currently developing the game for PC only, and if the game is successful and the community feedback is overwhelmingly positive, it may be released on other platforms (consoles) at a date yet to be announced, as the studio has not yet announced when we can expect “The Eternal Winter”.

Fun Dog Studios CEO and Creative Director Branford Miles Williams wrote in a press release, “We came together to take us back to the time when teams pushed boundaries, built new worlds, and experimented with new mechanics that were both satisfying and rewarding. The Forever Winter is a love letter to that bygone era, challenging players with intense gameplay while offering a fresh perspective on tactical shooters. This is personal for us. After working on some of the most successful games of all time, we were itching to get back to experimenting with new ideas, new IPs, and new worlds. The Forever Winter is coming!”

The Forever Winter is a cooperative tactical survival horror shooter where you and your squad must fight to survive in the shadow of terrifying and gigantic war machines locked in a never-ending conflict. Scavenge and fight for your next day alive in the shadow of giant war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower above the battlefield. That thirteen-story railgun across the map that looks like it’s part of the skybox? It’s aimed at your face.

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s dynamic combat system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operate in coordinated groups, and engage in large-scale battles – and they’ll react intelligently to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to. Use your wits, stealth, and expert marksmanship to make it to extraction. You’ll need to earn your stripes before you can take on a 40-foot mech armed with a tactical nuke. Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement has brought us here: a world choked by 40 years of industrial violence, merciless mass murder by AI automata, human-machine hybrids, and the grim truth of human nature.

The Forever Winter is coming to PC at an unknown date.
