Four Xbox Exclusives Become Multiplatform! [VIDEO]

Microsoft has officially announced which four of its games will appear on rival consoles.

Let’s go in chronological order. First up is Obsidian Entertainment’s narrative-driven adventure game Pentiment. Originally released for the Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store) on November 15, 2022, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch starting today, February 22. Limited Run Games has announced that the game will also have a physical release on PlayStation 5, Xbox and Switch. The pre-order period runs until March 24th.

The second release will be one of 2023’s sleeper hits (not mainstream, but still successful), Tango Gameworks’ Hi-Fi Rush. 2023 was released in a completely unexpected way on January 25, 2023 for Xbox Series and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), but is now heading to PlayStation 5. The rhythm-based action game will be available on Sony’s current-gen console on March 19. Pre-orders are available on the PlayStation Store from today. Interesting, why is there no Nintendo Switch port? Judging by the visuals, it could easily work there too…

The third game comes from Obsidian Entertainment. Launching in early access on Xbox One and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store) on July 28, 2020, Grounded 2022 was released on September 27, 2022 (also for the Xbox series at the time), and the multiplayer survival game is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. It will be available on all three platforms starting April 16.

The fourth game on the list is the earliest-released title, as Rare’s open-world pirate adventure game Sea of Thieves was released on March 20, 2018 for Xbox One and PC (Microsoft Store; it was released on Steam on June 3, 2020 and was one of the Xbox Series launch titles on November 10). It will also be ported to PlayStation 5, where it will be available to play starting on April 30.

Hi-Fi Rush will be a pleasant surprise from the developers of The Evil Within, but it’s not as big a title as, say, Starfield. Maybe Microsoft will bring it to PlayStation 5 one day.
