Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Embarrassing; The Retail Copies Are Flawed In Asia! [VIDEO]

The developer’s comment didn’t address this, but we have to ask: how could Square Enix have screwed up something like this?

The Japanese publisher has discovered that there was a printing error on the Asian disc edition of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The Blu-ray disc with the installation data is apparently the play disc and vice versa (it’s on two discs!). The solution is simple: insert the black disc (play disc), which is mislabeled as the data disc, into the PlayStation 5, install the game, then switch to the white disc (data disc), which is labeled as the installation disc. Once installed, only the white disc should be used. It’s a strange situation, but at least the Japanese publisher informed us about the bug at launch, which probably does NOT affect the other regions!

Let’s see three comments. Yoshinori Kitase (producer), Naoki Hamaguchi (director) and Tetsuya Nomura (creative director) also celebrated the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. “As the director of the original Final Fantasy VII, I am very proud that we were able to introduce role-playing games to a whole new generation and open up the world of storytelling to so many newcomers. Today, I feel the same pride when I look at what our development team has accomplished with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This adventure offers rich rewards for longtime fans, while also welcoming newcomers who can begin their Final Fantasy adventure here and experience a sense of wonder similar to that which they would have felt in 1997. I hope that both fans and those who have never played Final Fantasy before will enjoy this game,” said Kitase.

“Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a labor of love and our tribute to adventure – a vast world filled with compelling stories and our most ambitious game yet. Like those who brought us the original Final Fantasy VII, we’ve strived to achieve something never before possible with today’s technology: a deeper portrayal of our main cast of friends, comrades and people of the planet.By combining their powers in battle and strengthening their bonds through the choices you make, we hope you will feel a strong connection to these characters and the world they inhabit,” Hamaguchi wrote.

“For many years, I wondered what a remake of Final Fantasy VII would look like.Above all, I felt that we needed to do justice to the characters and story that have become so beloved by fans around the world.Final Fantasy VII Rebirth fulfills that vision, expanding upon the original title not only in the scope of its world, but also in the quiet moments shared by the party members, where warmth, joy, sorrow and tenderness can be found. As they move forward and forge deeper bonds on their way to their ultimate destiny, I hope you will open your heart to feel these emotions with them.As the second title in a trilogy, we have enjoyed listening to our fans’ feedback from the previous title and have incorporated elements into Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to create a truly stunning sequel.Thank you for playing our vision of a remake where the past is honored by the possibilities of the present to reimagine a story for future generations,” Nomura added.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available today on PlayStation 5.
