Mind-boggling: Call Of Duty Teams Up With Warhammer 40K!

Activision Blizzard’s (or now you could say Microsoft’s…) IP has been teaming up with quite a few IPs or famous people lately.

The cross-branding strategy in the case of Call of Duty has led to many, sometimes quite interesting, collaborations. In the past, Call of Duty has teamed up with Tomb Raider, The Boys (think Amazon’s TV series!), Godzilla, King Kong, Diablo, Spawn, Evil Dead, He-Man, and even Nicki Minaj. Compared to these, Warhammer 40,000 (or 40K) is in a whole other category in terms of WTF factor!

On Call of Duty’s Twitter, they announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone will be getting some skins inspired by the gothic space satire. Adeptus Astartes, Adepta Sororitas, Astra Militarum – if these names excite you, you should be happy, because they will find their way into the IP that has been running for twenty years (and has been released every year since!). There will probably be one change, though, because this time the Space Marines won’t be more than three feet tall, because that would make it too easy to shoot them in the head, which would quickly knock out your opponent in Call of Duty.

And that’s not the only crossover lately, as Warhammer 40K has also made an appearance in another game, as PowerWash Simulator has also received an add-on that lets you scrub 41st century vehicles so clean that the pigeons will immediately target them so you can start scrubbing them again. And the result is quite fun, too, because the base game itself is designed as a mostly relaxed experience, opening the door for other IPs to make a guest appearance for a clean-up or two.

So it’s not just Fortnite that’s trying to grab the public’s attention with a lot of IPs. Call of Duty has been on a similar path for several years now, and who knows when something even more unusual will come along in terms of collaborations. Just a matter of time!
