GOG: CD Projekt Has Signed A Deal With A Cloud Gaming Provider!

Games from GOG (Good Old Games) will soon be available through another platform, which could be a good alternative to the ones we’ve had so far.

CD Projekt has announced that GOG is teaming up with Amazon Luna to offer its DRM-free games through the cloud service. So, for example, if you don’t have a PC or laptop nearby, you can play select GOG titles on your phone and continue playing at home, as cloud saves and achievements will be shared between the two platforms. We will also be able to purchase GOG games through the Luna client, and those titles will show up in our GOG library.

Amazon Luna is currently available in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. You can access a service similar to Google’s Stadia on PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Fire tablets, Fire TV, and some LG and Samsung smart TVs (Stadia, of course, has been discontinued for over a year and not many people remember it anymore), which you can use with your Xbox One or PlayStation 4 controller, or even a mouse and keyboard in addition to your own controller. For some games, you can even use your phone itself as a controller.

Amazon Luna’s business model is different in that we don’t buy games from them, we buy access to subscription channels. A Luna+ subscription costs $10 per month and gives you access to over 100 games, such as Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Control Ultimate Edition, Sonic Mania, Tetris Effect, Yakuza Kiwami or Yakuza Kiwami 2. The Ubisoft+ channel costs $18 per month and the Jackbox games cost $5 per month.

An interesting expansion from CD Projekt, but it’s still a way to pick up old PC games.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
