Brothers in Arms (no, not Gearbox’s now-neglected IP!) can even fix some cut content in the 2015 game, so that alone makes it worth checking out.
The Witcher 3 has an unofficial patch-style mod that not only fixes several bugs in CD Projekt RED’s (CDPR) game almost nine years after its release, but it’s also able to fix a number of bugs in the game. Sometimes it’s not big bugs, but a typo here, a missing line of text there, or traces of the Witcher Sense disappearing in the open world after completing missions there. So there are a lot of little things that go a long way in the mod, resulting in a much more polished game.
The cut content might also stand out, as it blurs the line between bug fixing and content restoration. There was a little dialogue with a thematic spymaster, Thaler, that confirmed his connection to one of the quests (The Frying Pan, Spick and Span), which is not cut content, but doesn’t show up by default. Brothers in Arms also brought this back. It also has paprika and restored our health better with the next-gen 4.0 patch; the mod fixed this by making it a lootable item, so if we run out of potion, our mood can still be peppery. There’s also more dialogue with the main non-playable characters (NPCs) (Triss, Avallac’h, Vesemir), but this also applies to unnamed quest givers and NPCs.
The Skellige Gambeson is also back: it’s a good light armor at the beginning of the game, and now it’s back in use with its slightly Bavarian (white-light blue) color scheme, as CDPR finally changed it to green shortly after release (did some complaints come from Bavaria about the color combination used by the Polish studio?)
So it might be interesting, especially for fans, to see what the Brothers in Arms mod has to offer, which can be accessed via Nexus Mods.
