Stellar Blade: New Game+ is Here with the Day 1 Patch [VIDEO]

Not only has the slightly racist graffiti disappeared from one of the R-shop walls, but replayability has also been significantly improved in Shift Up’s PlayStation 5 exclusive, which launches today.

In many cases, we’ve seen a game’s New Game+ mode released months later (such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2), but the South Korean developers have done it immediately with the first daily update. The level cap on Eve’s equipment has been changed so that the weapon max is now 40 instead of 15, the body and beta energy max is now 9 instead of 6, and the tumbler max is now 13 instead of 5. The remaining cores can be sold in SP0-tt2r’s shop for Vitcoin, which can be used to purchase new costume items.

In New Game Plus, in addition to continuing your progression, you’ll be able to collect Cores to boost Eve’s Weapons, HP, and Beta Energy even more than in the base game. You can also upgrade your Tumbler to increase the amount of HP it heals at once. You can also upgrade your drone to increase the power of your ranged attacks. Once you’ve completed all of your upgrades, you can sell the Core Items you’ve earned to SP0-tt2r to purchase new costumes.

In New Game Plus, you’ll be able to earn Infinite Skills, which are enhancements to existing Beta Skills: 4 new Beta skill moves, 8 new skills to enhance Beta/Burst skills, and 5 new Drone skills. Not only can Beta Skills be improved, but Burst Skills as well, so defeat the enemies and earn SP (Skill Points) to unlock them all. In New Game Plus, you can purchase new costumes and accessories for Eve, as well as additional costumes for Adam, Lily, and the Drone. You can try re-opening the chests from which you previously obtained your costumes, or revisit the shops that sell them. You can also replay quests to earn costumes you missed on your first playthrough. There are a whopping 34 new outfits for Eve to earn in New Game Plus, including five accessories and two cosmetics each for Adam, Lily, and the Drone.

Eve’s Gear and Exospine will also receive new enhancements. These Mk2 enhancements to existing gear will allow players to personalize their approach to the game. Why not increase your attack speed to corner your enemies with attacks, or convert the damage you take into beta energy and send it back at them? You can also increase your shield penetration to ignore enemy shields. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by stronger enemies, we recommend collecting and combining Mk2 equipment. Also, as Eve evolves, enemies will become stronger on harder difficulties. Enemies may also be repositioned in New Game Plus, so be on the lookout!

Stellar Blade is out today on PlayStation 5.
