Fallout 2 Could Get A Remake; Which Console Is Better for Fallout 4?! [VIDEO]

It looks like Fallout 2 is getting a complete remake using the Fallout 4 engine!

Following the success of Amazon’s Fallout series, which has just been renewed for a second season, the beloved RPG franchise has seen massive growth in returning players and new explorers eager to see what all the fuss is about. So there’s no better time to immerse yourself in everything Fallout has to offer – now in the form of a Fallout 2 remake!

What can Fallout 2 fans expect from Project Arroyo?

For many, Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic series began in 2008 with Fallout 3. But before Bethesda acquired the rights to the series, the first two mainline games were published by Interplay Productions. The original Fallout came out in 1997, and the sequel was released the following year.

In February of this year, news broke that a fan remake of Fallout 2 powered by Fallout 4’s Creation Engine was in the works.

The Fallout 2 remake in question is called Fallout: Project Arroyo. A location trailer was released, which gives a glimpse of what to expect from the project.

Now, a new trailer has been released (see at the end of this article) that compares the 1998 Fallout 2 game and the upcoming remake. Back in the late 90s, the Fallout series was a very different game than it is today.

Sure, both of the original games were post-apocalyptic RPGs, but they were also point-and-click adventure games played from an isometric perspective. That’s why it’s fascinating to see the Fallout: Project Arroyo comparison trailer. It shows the old Fallout 2 and the fan remake side by side.

Currently, Fallout: Project Arroyo does not have a release date yet. We may have to wait years for it. What’s more, similar to Fallout: Vault 13 and Fallout: London, Fallout: Project Arroyo is only made for PC; it will not be available for consoles.

Which console version of Fallout 4 is the better one?

Ever since Fallout aired on Amazon Prime, a surge of players has been seen and felt in the Wasteland. Most newcomers leave the Shelter to explore Fallout 4, and with that decision comes another: which console to play on?

I don’t want to doubt the upgraded version of the PlayStation 5, but the Xbox is the better choice if you can afford to own both consoles.

Now, this isn’t referring to the confusing messages PS5 users received when trying to play Bethesda’s RPG through PS Plus. It’s about something completely different.

Because on Xbox, Bethesda’s Creation Club offers a better selection than its PlayStation counterpart.

Arguably, PC gamers still hold the upper hand regarding modding options. But Creation Club certainly opened things up for Xbox gamers. Unfortunately, the options are not available for PS5 players due to Sony’s rigid stance on mod usage.

New players still have much to explore, even if they’re playing an unmodded Fallout 4. Still, those who prefer to enhance their gaming experience will feel the loss of such a large number of options and customization.

Besides getting yourself an Xbox, there’s another way to get the best Fallout experience: install New Vegas instead of Fallout 4!

This is, of course, a subjective opinion. Everyone decides for themselves which games and consoles they prefer. Fallout 4 is also a great game on PS5. In addition, the Fallout 3 remake seems to be coming sooner than we expected. So it’s time for us all to return to the Wasteland!
