No Big Issues Surrounding Perfect Dark? [VIDEO]

There seems to be some chatter around Xbox and The Initiative, with the help of Crystal Dynamics, may be on the right track to reboot the Perfect Dark IP.

There’s a lot of buzz around Xbox after the closure of three studios and the folding of Roundhouse Studios into ZeniMax Online Studios. Also regarding “the greens”, it’s been reported that Jeff Grubb says that Perfect Dark is in a bit of a state of disarray in development. But The Initiative, which has been proclaimed elite, even got some help, as since September 2021, two and a half years ago, they have been working with Crystal Dynamics, who were behind the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy in recent years.

This rumor was debunked by another insider, Nate The Hate, who said the following on the latest episode of the Spawncast’s DirectXbox show: “If it doesn’t show up next month, I think you could start having some conversations about what’s going on with the game, but I wouldn’t sound any alarms until the end of the year. If we go the entire year without seeing Perfect Dark in any form, then I think that conversation needs to come up, but at this point I fully expect that we will see Perfect Dark next month and that some of the more recent rumors may have been outdated information. I heard things this week that Perfect Dark is not in that bad of shape.”

But Grubb wasn’t the only one who was pessimistic about the game, as Miller Ross, Liam Robertson, and VG247 editor Alex Donaldson all had similar opinions about Perfect Dark, which is scheduled to make an appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9th. Rhys Elliott of Midia Research said that Microsoft should have a strong lineup of games to make up for the disappointment of many fans.

And it’s interesting to note that Grubb also later talked about the game’s need to appear in the show, partially correcting his earlier statement: he had only heard it from a developer, and it’s common to hear such comments during development…
