Modders even re-create things that are no longer considered official, canonical events in Star Wars history, but there’s no stopping the fans.
Luke Skywalker had a strange wife, Mara Jade, an ex-Sith assassin with a purple lightsaber. Chewbacca was dropped on a moon and died at the age of 225. The plans for the first Death Star were not stolen by rebel soldiers led by Donnie Yen. These events and some characters have since been dropped by Disney, but several games were released during this era. General Tantor at ModDB covers Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith Remastered, which has received a 3.0 update.
Nightdive recently remastered Star Wars: Dark Forces, the first FPS of the IP. This was followed by Jedi Knight, which introduced lightsaber combat to the formula. While Raven Software, currently working on Call of Duty: Warzone, continued the series with Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy (considered the best games to feature lightsaber duels), they also released Mysteries of the Sith, a standalone expansion to Jedi Knight, starring the aforementioned Mara Jade. Her mission: to rescue Kyle Katarn after he has met the wrong people. It’s a strange side-story, but it fits the style, but remember that this is an early 3D game, so the original visuals don’t really hold up today.
However, General Tantor’s mod improves them (and he did a similar treatment to Jedi Knight before). Mysteries of the Sith Remastered has made the models and textures look better, so it’s basically on par with Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. Version 3.0 also fixes a bug that caused the newer, higher polygon models to revert to the originals during scenes. The UI has been upscaled, and Mara Jade also got a uniquely modeled lightsaber with the new update.
The result is quite good.
