Helldivers 2: What Can We Expect in the Future? The New CEO of the Studio Has Spoken!

The new CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, Shams Jorjani, knows that they won’t be able to keep up with user expectations over time, but they are striving to give the public more and better things in the long run.

Jorjani told Reddit what to expect from Helldivers 2 now that a new CEO is at the helm of the studio: “What can you expect from the studio? First of all, this whole change is about getting Pilen [Johan Pilestedt] closer to the games. Making new games/prototypes, having more time to play Helldivers, working closer with Micke, our excellent game director, and the many other designers/devs we have.

I’ve assigned Pilen to be the Obi-Wan to many “Lukes” in our studio. If everyone can hear Pilen’s wise voice in the back of their heads when they’re balancing weapons, designing missions or enemies, the better. That doesn’t mean that Pilen is always right – but we want to keep him on his toes, and he on ours. But at the end of the day, it’s not Pilen who makes the games, it’s everyone else – it’s a team effort.

Second – continue to work closely with Sony and improve the game for as many people as possible. They’re an amazing partner and we really, really wouldn’t have Hellsivers 2 without them. Third, more. We knew it would be impossible to keep up with the demand and insatiable hunger for more fun sh_t to do in/with Helldivers 2. Our singular focus as a studio is to set things up in a sustainable way so that we can make more and better stuff in the long run. We’re building a little scaffolding before we build a bigger barn. Queue “where’s the patch?????” comments.

Fourth, dialog. I think Pilen has set a great precedent by speaking so openly and directly to the community about the game. He is our ambassador and he will continue to be our BIG voice. But I’m going to be here too, and that’s why I’ve been talking a little bit about myself. There’s a human being at the other end of the comments. That doesn’t mean we’ll respond to every thread, every whim, or every loud voice – but we’re here to listen. Pilen and I spent an hour over dinner the other night laughing at the memes you made,” Jorjani wrote.

Hello fellow Helldivers! Greetings from the newly minted CEO – Shams Jorjani

So the studio is trying to stay close to the players, but only to those who don’t constantly strike a toxic, critical tone. So it will be interesting to see how things change in the short term.
