The Rings Of Power: A Popular Character Returns, But In A Different Way Than Expected?!

MOVIE NEWS – In the first season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Joseph Mawle played the character of Adar, but now Sam Hazeldine has to portray the ancient orc leader…

Amazon is preparing to premiere the second season of The Rings of Power. That is why, until the end of the summer, we will gradually learn more and more details about what awaits us with the return of the prequel series The Lord of the Rings. In addition to the many old and new characters, there was also a change of actors, which did not go unnoticed.

We’ve been hearing rumours for months that Joseph Mawle will not be returning to the fantasy blockbuster to play Adar.

This is sad because Adar’s character – in the role of Mawle – was one of the few features of the new Lord of the Rings series that the vast majority of viewers could appreciate. The makers of the series hired Sam Hazeldine to replace the actor. Here’s a little before and after comparison. At first glance, the change seems to have been well-received on social media, with users saying Adar has become much more “creepy”.

Adar will not be as friendly with Sauron in the second season of The Rings of Power as it seems

Speaking about the character, Hazeldine also gave a brief insight into what viewers can expect from his role in the second season: “For me, the appeal was that he’s a dark character, but he doesn’t see himself as a villain. He’s just trying to protect his children, the Lords. So he’s doing what he feels he has to do to save them from the genocide, whether that would be from Sauron, who sees them as cannon fodder, or from the elves.”

In other words, Adar will have enemies on all sides this season. We’ll see how it all turns out, not least because Adar doesn’t yet know something that we already do. That is, Sauron is alive and heading for Mordor. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power returns to Prime Video on August 29.
