Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream: Stealth and Strategy in One [VIDEO]

Nordcurrent Labs will publish the current-gen game from River End Games (how interesting that the bigger publishers are pushing for multiplatform releases, while the smaller ones are not so much…).

Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream is a narrative-driven stealth-strategy adventure game from River End Games – a Gothenburg-based studio made up of fifteen veteran AAA developers whose industry credits include Battlefield, Little Nightmares, Mirror’s Edge, and Unravel.

It is a character-driven single-player game set in the titular Eriksholm – a fictional city in a fictional world heavily influenced by a Nordic-inspired, early 1900s aesthetic. It tells the story of three protagonists united by the fire in their hearts to defy their oppressors. The reveal trailer introduces protagonist Hanna, an adolescent orphan on a quest to find her brother Herman. What follows is a sequence of events that transforms Hanna into a reluctant hero, inspiring her and her friends to rise from the gutters of Eriksholm to become symbols of change.

Players will embody Eriksholm from a top-down 3D perspective: The Stolen Dream’s three playable protagonists and navigate the densely detailed streets and bleak underground of the city of Eriksholm, using each character’s unique skills, tools and weapons to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles. Players can freely move the in-game camera to survey the environment, plan their next move, and execute it with perfect timing.

Even overheard dialogue, such as context-sensitive guard chatter, can prove meaningful in determining the best strategic move to make in order to advance undetected, as challenges may have multiple solutions. The game skillfully blends the art of storytelling, stealth, and strategy-based gameplay mechanics to provide players with an immersive adventure featuring high production value visuals, motion-captured performances, and engaging real-time gameplay.

Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream will be released sometime in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC (including Steam and Epic Games Store).
