The “green” promotion is a notable way to shine a spotlight on the Redmond-based company’s service, which hasn’t been growing its subscriber base at a remarkable rate lately.
Nvidia has made Game Pass available to PC users for free. All you have to do is create an Nvidia account. If you’re already registered, check to see if you’re enrolled in GeForce Rewards (on the Profile Edit page), download GeForce Experience or the beta version of the Nvidia app, or go to the GeForce Now Rewards page and follow the steps below.
Open the GeForce Experience or Nvidia app beta. You will need at least one GeForce GTX 1000 graphics card in your PC or laptop. Log in to one of the two apps mentioned above. Click on the Redeem section and then select the PC Game Pass GeForce Reward, available since yesterday, courtesy of Nvidia. Then just follow the steps.
It’s a pretty smart move by Nvidia because it allows gamers to register an Nvidia account and then log in to one of the company’s apps to play games like Cyberpunk 2077, Diablo IV, Starfield, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, Forza Horizon 5, or Minecraft with RTX.
Speaking of the Nvidia app, the green team has released a new update. It now supports AV1 encoding. With AV1 SDR and HDR, you can record with much clearer image quality and even shoot at up to 120 fps on GeForce RTX 4000 graphics cards! (Not all video sharing platforms support this, but recordings will look even more stable at this frame rate.) You can also tune performance with a single click for faster frame rates in games.
The three-month free PC Game Pass is definitely a good idea, but there are bound to be some limitations, so we wouldn’t be surprised if someone who’s already tried the service for free is now missing out…
