Ion Lands’ next game will be set in the same world as their previous title Cloudpunk, which was released in 2020, so the German team (whose game will be published by 505 Games) won’t be deviating much from the previous games.

Ion Lands’ explanation for the delay was as follows: “Nivalis has taken on a life of its own, growing and evolving in ways we want to share with you. For a glimpse of what’s to come, check out the latest trailer, which features many never-before-seen locations, train journeys, and story clues from Ava, one of the main characters you’ll meet in the game! Ion Lands’ top priority is to ensure that Nivalis provides the best possible experience for players, and the team appreciates the patience and support they have received from the ever-growing community as Ion Lands embarks on this creative journey. Nivalis, a cyberpunk slice-of-life sim from Ion Lands, returns to the city of the same name from Cloudpunk. Make your mark in this starry, neon-lit future by expanding from a humble noodle stand or nightclub into a booming business. Meet strange characters, discover a bustling underworld… or simply enjoy a humble life of fishing and home decorating high above the clouds. A future full of possibilities awaits.”

Making it in this cyberpunk city isn’t easy. The gangs want to harvest your organs, the Corps will fine you for breathing, and all the while the ground is crumbling beneath your feet. This city could fall into the ocean tomorrow, so you better make your fortune today. You’ll have to start small: a food stand, a noodle stand, a stim store. Work your way up to a bar, a restaurant, or even a nightclub. In Nivalis, you choose how you spend your time in the city. In this unique slice-of-life sim with realistic weather simulation and day/night cycles, you can grow your business, meet strange and diverse characters, make friends, and experience the danger and wonder of this cyberpunk voxel city. Live your simulated life in Nivalis and maybe even find love.

Nivalis will be released on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) sometime in the spring of 2025 instead of the previously planned 2024. Announced in 2022, the game may also make it to consoles later, as Cloudpunk has finally made its way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
